Quran Recitation, Islam and Arabic Basics:
This course will provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of reciting The Qur’an with the basic rules of tajweed. The aim of this course is to enable students to be able to recite the Qur’an with fluency unassisted. Students will also learn to recognize basic Arabic vocabulary. Furthermore, it will also give a blend of practical Islamic knowledge and manners at a foundational level. It is intended to be a bridge to higher learning in the future.
Course Overview:
Students will learn oral recitation of The Qur’an by learning letter recognition, recognising frequently occurring words and basic vocabulary. Each lesson, students will read their allocated portion as designated by the reader. They will then be supported and nurtured through the learning process. Vocabulary will be taught according to the student’s capability with either a small, supplementary vocabulary booklet or orally. Basic Islamic knowledge will be transmitted through in class Salah, led by the teacher when the Salah time arrives. Also, the teacher will teach basic rulings from Taleemul Haq.
